THE EFFECT OF GIVING DILL SEEDS (ANETHUM GRAVEOLENS) ON THE DURATION OF THE FIRST STAGE OF LABOR: SYSTEMATIC REVIEW
Keywords:
Anethum graveolens, diil, labor duration, uterine contractions.Abstract
Background : Labor and birth are normal physiological events. There are 5 essential factors that affect the process of labor and delivery. The labor process on the acceleration of the duration of the first stage is influenced by the work of these five factors, namely the first force to push the fetus out of power which includes his (uterine strength), abdominal wall muscle contraction, diaphragm contraction and ligament action. Recent studies have shown that boiled water from dill seeds ( Anethum graveolens ) given to pregnant women during the active phase is an effective alternative in increasing dilation and thinning during labor so as to speed up the duration of labor .
Objective: To examine literature studies on the effect of giving Dill Seeds ( Anethum graveolens ) to the duration of the first stage of labor using the systematic review method .
Methods: This study uses the Systematic Review method using 5 articles that are included in the inclusion criteria, namely from the Google Scholar, Pubmed and Elsevier databases , using the keywords Anethum graveolens, diil,  labor duration, uterine contractions, the study population of physiological pregnant women entering the first stage of the active phase. delivery, study design using a clinical trial ( Randomized Clinical Trial ), there is a test group and a control group, the year of publication of the article is 2010-2020, using English and sourced from international journals.
Results: The results of data analysis from 5 articles showed that giving sowa dill seeds (Anethum graveolens ) to physiologically primiparous maternity women who entered the first stage of the active phase could shorten the duration of the first stage of labor, namely ± 3 hours or less than 6 hours calculated at the time of admission. active phase.
Conclusion: The decoction of dill seeds ( Anethum graveolens ) has an effect on cervical dilation and thinning so that it affects the duration of labor and can be used as herbal therapy for physiological maternity mothers who enter the first stage of the active phase.
