Abstract
Background: Cervical cancer continues to be a health problem for women in developing countries, including Indonesia. Factors that influence the occurrence of cervical cancer is due to the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV). IVA implementation rate is still low. Therefore, KIE is needed from IVA to WUS. The results showed that KIE had an effect on WUS's desire to study IVA.
Methods: Quantitative research with a one group pretest and posttest design approach. The sample is women of childbearing age in the working area of the Kuala Kapuas Selat Health Center in January 2023 totaling 49 people, using a purposive sampling technique. Retrieval of data using questionnaires and leaflets. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test
Result: Based on the analysis, it shows that there is influence from Communication, Information, and Education on the respondent's desire to carry out IVA examinations at the UPT Puskesmas Selat Kuala Kapuas, with a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. If Asymp.sig < 0.05 then the hypothesis is rejected, which means that there is an influence of KIE on the respondent's desire to carry out an IVA examination
Conclusion: There is an influence of IEC on the desire of women of childbearing age (WUS) to have IVA examination.
