Abstract
Background: Perineal injury is an injury that occurs in the perineum during delivery and 70% occurs in women who give birth vaginally. Every mother with perineal injuries causes unpleasant effects such as pain and a fear of moving so that many mothers with perineal injuries rarely want to move postpartum so that it can lead to many problems including uterine sub involution, lochea expenditure that is not smooth, and postpartum hemorrhage.
Objective : To study "Potential of Snakehead Fish on Perineal Wound Healing" using literature review method.
Methods: The assessment in this study uses The JBI Critical Appraisal Tools method to assess the risk of bias in a study with five databases (Biomed Central Psychiatry, DOAJ, Elsevier, Google Scholer and Portal Garuda).
Results: The literature collection process was carried out by selecting the number of journals or articles from 20 literatures to 10 literatures, 4 international journals and 6 national journals. Literature review research to identify the potential of snakehead fish on the healing of perineal wounds in women in labor. Maternal mothers who were given snakehead fish experienced an accelerated healing of perineal wounds compared to those who were not given snakehead fish. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of consumption of snakehead fish (Channa Striata) on the acceleration of perineal wound healing in pregnant women.
Conclusion: Based on the results of research and discussion by conducting a literature review of several literatures such as journals, books, articles, previous theses and the internet about the treatment of perineal wounds in maternity, it can be concluded that Snakehead Fish Extract can reduce perineal wounds in maternity, as evidenced from 5 journals. who confirmed that snakehead fish in overcoming perineal wounds in maternity, and 1 of them Selvianti (2020) still has not found the effect of snakehead fish extract for treating perineal wounds in maternity. In addition, the control group also plays an important role in giving snakehead fish extract to pregnant women
