Abstract
Background:.Lack of ANC frequency suspected to have a correlation with anemia prevalence because blood supplement tablets were not distributed during ANC and made majority of anemic pregnant women consuming < 90 tablets of blood supplements. Preliminary study showed there are 7 of 10 pregnant women who got ANC in PMB Winda Maolinda that have Hb < 11 gr%.
Objective: To analyze ANC frequency with anemia prevalence on pregnant women in PMB Winda Maolinda.
Methods: This research used analytical survey design with cross sectional approach to 30 trimester III pregnant women that has been chosen with purposive sampling technique. Data has been analyzed univariately in the form of frequency distribution tables and analyzed with fisher’s exact test.
Results: ANC frequency on majority of respondents or 20 of 30 people (66,7%) were not up to minimum standard. Majority of respondents or 17 of 30 people (56,7%) were identified as anemic (Hb < 11 gr%). Hypothesis test result showed p value = 0,255 which means there is no correlation of ANC frequency with anemia prevalence on preganant women in PMB Winda Maolinda
Conclusion: Anemia doesn’t have correlation with anc frequency but also caused by the lack of adherence to take the blood supplements regularly.
