Abstract

Background: A perineal tear is a birth canal injury that can occur with or without the use of birthing aids.

Objective: To review literature studies on Interventions During Pregnancy to Reduce the Degree of Perineal Tear in Maternal Maternity with the Systematic Review method.

Method: Systematic Review using RCT. Journal search via (Google Scholar, Elsevier and PUBMED).

Results: analysis of data from 9 articles showed that there was an effect of intervention during pregnancy to reduce the degree of perineal tear in women giving birth. Perineal massage during pregnancy can reduce the degree of tearing during childbirth, compared to the control group, the intervention group had a lower incidence of episiotomy, Kegel exercises could strengthen the perineal and pelvic muscles (p<0.05), and Yoga allowed women to control themselves. Conclusion: Interventions of perineal massage, Kegel exercises, and pregnancy yoga are beneficial for reducing the degree of perineal tear in women giving birth, and reducing pain and speeding up the process. Postpartum recovery both physically and emotionally. Suggestion: For further research, it is possible to develop research related to similar topics. And it is also hoped that further research can examine or find new methods other than existing alternatives to overcome the limitations of the researcher.
