PENGARUH BABY MASSAGE TERHADAP PENURUNAN KADAR BILIRUBIN PADA NEONATUS YANG MENJALANI FOTOTERAPI : LITERATURE REVIEW
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction : Hyperbilirubinemia is a condition in newborns in which the total serum bilirubin level is more than 10 mg/dl in the first 24 hours of life, marked by jaundice. The main treatment for cases of hyperbilirubinemia at this time is phototherapy, albumin transfusion and liver protection. However, there are several other alternative methods, one of which is baby massage.
Objective: To determine the effect of Baby Massage on reducing bilirubin levels in neonates.
Methods: Literature review research design. Journal criteria were filtered based on literature titles, abstracts and keywords through the Population, Interventions, Comparison, and Outcomes (PICO) system approach. Based on sources from Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Science Direct. The number of articles used is 5 journals.
Results: A total of 12 articles that have been reviewed above, mentioned that the results of their research on both the decrease in bilirubin levels and the frequency of defecation and breastfeeding the baby did not show any significant difference between the control group and the intervention group on the first day of the study, p>0.05. However, there was a significant difference on the 2nd to 6th day of the study with an average result of p<0.005.
Conclusion: There was a significant difference between the group of infants who received intervention, namely massage therapy and phototherapy and the control group who received only phototherapy.
Keywords: Neonate, Baby Massage, Decreased Bilirubin Levels.
