Abstrak

Background: Anxiety of pregnant women facing childbirth is an emotional response that is not pleasant, full of worry, a fear that is not expressed because of a source of threat or thoughts of something to come. Who in 2019 around 30% of third trimester pregnant women experience anxiety in the face of childbirth. This psychological change causes pregnant women to experience sensitivity, anxiety, and need attention. Collaborative efforts between patients and health workers, providing information through classes for pregnant women and participating in pregnancy exercises.

Methods: Quasy experimented with posttest only control group design technique with a sample of 20 people taken using purposive sampling technique. Data collection by means of primary data through filling out the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A) questionnaire.

Results: This study statistically found that third trimester pregnant women who participated in pregnancy exercise had a moderate mild anxiety category value of 10 people (100%) while pregnant women who did not participate in pregnancy exercise had a severe anxiety category value of 7 people (70%), the remaining 3 people (30%) had moderate mild anxiety. The Shapiro-Wilk test obtained a p value of 0.409 (> 0.05). The independent t-test obtained a p value of 0.000 (< 0.05).

Conclusion: There is an effect of pregnancy exercise on reducing anxiety levels in third trimester pregnant women in the face of childbirth at SAHlah Complementary Home.
