Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a national problem that reflects the socioeconomic well-being of the community and has a major effect on the quality of human resources. Iron deficiency, a common cause of anemia in pregnancy, can have serious consequences such as miscarriage, premature birth, and the risk of maternal and infant mortality. In the Martapura 1 Puskesmas area, 70% of pregnant women experience anemia, due to a lack of understanding and discipline in taking blood supplement tablets. The purpose of the practical program of making date milk drinks to prevent pregnant women from anemia "SURGA AMMA" is to increase knowledge about the processing and utilization of healthy drinks for pregnant women that are easy to process. Methods: The empowerment program for pregnant women "SURGA AMMA" is carried out through counseling in the class of pregnant women with the practice of making date milk drinks. Dates, rich in iron, are processed into healthy drinks to prevent and overcome anemia. The activity involved 13 pregnant women from trimester 1 to trimester 3, with material explanation, processing practice, and interactive discussion. Evaluation was conducted through pretest and post-test questionnaires. Conclusion: The "SURGA AMMA" program successfully empowered pregnant women in increasing knowledge about anemia and healthy beverage processing. The evaluation results showed an increase in knowledge in all pregnant women. The program also received support from pregnant women and pregnant women class officers. The success of this program shows the potential for further development in providing community care to prevent and overcome anemia in pregnant women. Through education and practice, pregnant women can consume healthy drinks easily and economically, improving health and nutrition during pregnancy.
