E Empowerment of Bina Sejahtera Posyandu Cadres in Knowledge of Balanced Nutritional Intake as an Effort to Prevent and Control Stunting in Sungai Lulut Village

Abstract

Stunting is a long-term chronic nutritional problem due to a lack of nutritional intake that causes disruption of growth in children. Stunting is one of the causes of stunted growth in children's height so that they are lower than children their age. The 2018 Health Research states that the prevalence of stunting in South Kalimantan province is 24.6% and in Banjarmasin city is 22.4%. The purpose of this activity is to increase cadres' knowledge about balanced nutritional intake and provide training on cooking skills that are in accordance with balanced nutritional intake for the prevention and control of stunting. The method of implementation is field surveys and direct coordination with discussions with posyandu cadres. Implementation of activities for 2 meetings within 1 month. Activities consisted of 1 cadre education, 1 cadre skills education training, and evaluation of program implementation. The first activity was Balanced Nutrition Intake education to all cadres in the working area of Sungai Lulut Village, namely Posyandu Bina Sejahtera. There was an increase in scores before and after the delivery of the material with an average increase in scores of 3. Training activities for measuring nutritional content in food ingredients and processed foods were attended by cadres of Posyandu Bina Sejahtera 1, 6, and 7. There was an increase in scores before and after the training with an average increase in scores of 26.22. This activity has successfully taken place for approximately 1 month, starting from licensing on July 3 to the last activity on August 30, 2023. This program succeeded in increasing cadres' knowledge related to balanced nutritional intake, herbal nutraceutical products, and training cadres' skills in cooking according to balanced nutritional intake.
