Abstract

Based on the results of the problem analysis in Gudang Tengah Village, several problems were found, namely a lack of public awareness of the surrounding environment and public understanding and awareness of the impact of air pollution from the brick making process. One of the impacts of air pollution is that it can cause acute respiratory infections (ARI) and unhealthy environmental conditions. Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an acute infection that attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract from the nose to the alveoli, including the adnexa. One of the ARIs that occurs most often in the community is toddlers, giving therapy to toddlers with ARI, namely complementary therapy, namely giving Honey and Ginger. The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge about the use of complementary therapy of ginger and honey for early treatment of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in toddlers. This activity takes the form of providing education about complementary ginger and honey therapy in collaboration with Gudang Tengah village officials. This activity was attended by 11 mothers who have toddlers, with visible knowledge increasing from an average pretest score of 45,45%, after the activity was carried out a posttest with an average score of 48,18% regarding knowledge of the use of complementary therapies of honey and ginger.
