D DUDA MANIS ( IUD Family Planning Education And Free IUD Installation) in The Working Area Of The Paringin Selatan Health Center

The use of MKJP birth control is still low, especially IUD contraception is still far from targeted and low public interest is partly due to fear and anxiety in prospective acceptors to install the contraceptive. One effort to increase interest in contraceptive use can be done by conducting counseling in the form of education about IUD birth control. Factors that can affect the use of contraception are due to low public knowledge about the advantages of long-term contraceptive methods and limited number of trained personnel and existing facilities. Some problems that still exist in the use of IUD contraception are that there is still a culture of shame or taboo from the community to install this IUD because it is related to its installation through female sex organs, fear of interfering during sexual intercourse and fear of the IUD running into the stomach. Based on data available at the South Paringin Health Center, MKJP KB coverage, especially IUDs, is still very low in 2022 as many as 123 people (4.95%), and in 2023 until November 2023 IUD birth control acceptors are 145 (5.92%) from the number of couples of childbearing age 2447 people. Therefore, the South Paringin Health Center held counseling in the form of IUD KB education and free IUD installation, the activity was carried out on December 9, 2023 at the South Paringin Health Center which began at 09.00 WIB, the participants of this activity were couples of childbearing age, funding for this activity came from the budget of the Balangan Regency Health Office APBD. From this activity, it was found that there were 20 women who installed IUD contraception. With the addition of 20 acceptors so that there was an increase in achievement from the previous 5.92%, there was an increase in achievement of 0.82% to 6.74%. From this activity, it is hoped that in the future there will be education about IUD contraception regularly, and free IUD installation activities will always be carried out
