Abstract

Dirgahayu Health Center has a sufficient number of health workers and complete facilities. The area consists of 9 villages with the majority of the population working as civil servants, private employees, traders, farmers, and fishermen. Communication and transportation facilities are adequate, with the majority of the area accessible by four-wheeled vehicles. There are several health problems such as low coverage of K1 and K4 in pregnant women, as well as a lack of cadre knowledge about anemia. Community service was conducted to improve understanding and management of anemia in pregnant women. Other health problems include misperceptions about blood supplement tablets. The method of implementing activities carried out through an approach, namely analyzing the results of the assessment of the area in determining the problem, followed by identifying problems, planning interventions, implementing implementation and evaluating the implementation of community service that has been carried out in overcoming the planned problems by carrying out counseling activities on anemia and training in local feeding along with monitoring of taking blood tablets added to cadres This service activity received positive appreciation from both village government officials and the Puskesmas who were present during the implementation of the activity. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the activity from start to finish. Based on the community service activities that have been carried out by counseling cadres in efforts to prevent and treat anemia in pregnant women is very effective, in addition to increasing cadre knowledge about anemia, cadres can also continue information, education and communication effectively to pregnant women in the Dirgahayu Puskesmas working area, so that the knowledge and understanding of pregnant women about anemia also increases. In addition, in this community service activity there is also the provision of balanced nutritious local food which is carried out for 2 weeks can reduce and overcome pregnant women who experience anemia.
