Abstract

Alalak Tengah Community Health Center, in North Banjarmasin Subdistrict, has a working area in two urban villages, Alalak Tengah and Alalak Utara, with a geographical condition of 100% swamp and air temperature between 27°C-33°C. The area spans 18.30 km2, bordered by Barito River and Alalak River to the north, Barito River to the west, Alalak Selatan and Kuin Utara urban villages to the south, and Sei Miai urban village to the east. The health center has 18 posyandu that involve the role of health cadres, midwives, and other health workers in maternal and child health services. Health cadres at the posyandu have an important role in community counseling, data collection of pregnant women, weighing, P4K sticker installation, and MCH recording activities. To improve the function of posyandu in the Childbirth Planning and Complication Prevention Program (P4K), it is necessary to develop efforts to increase the role of health cadres. This article highlights the problem of high maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR) in Indonesia, with a focus on Puskesmas Alalak Tengah. The support of cadres as a key factor in achieving MMR reduction is identified as important, as well as the need for community involvement in monitoring the health of pregnant women. The purpose of this activity is to assess, diagnose health problems, plan interventions, and evaluate programs in the field of public health. With a focus on increasing Antenatal Care (ANC) visits and cadre knowledge, the project is geared towards strengthening the role of cadres and communities through "Peta Hamka Wamil" to improve maternal health monitoring. It is expected that this project can contribute to reducing MMR and IMR in Alalak Tengah Health Center. The "PETA HAMKA WAMIL" program is able to empower communities and posyandu cadres with the Pregnancy Bag Monitoring method and Mandatory Reporting of Pregnant Women (WAMIL), improving the health status of pregnant women and babies. Pregnant women and posyandu cadres can increase early pregnancy check-up visits to health workers. Midwifery Project activities provide an overview of community care according to the needs of the community, especially in the Pregnancy Check-up Aware Village
