Abstract

The low level of breastfeeding for babies is because the amount of breast milk produced by mothers is small because it is influenced by many factors, one of which is hormones. One effort that can be made to increase the rate of secretion and production of breast milk is through the use of traditional herbal medicines such as katuk extract. Giving katuk leaves up to 170 grams/day can increase milk production by up to 45%. However, katuk leaves have an unpleasant aroma and taste and often make people/pregnant and breastfeeding women reluctant to consume them directly. Currently, there are not many processed foods made from katuk leaves, there is still very little use of katuk leaf flour to make processed food, especially in the form of snacks, bread or sticks or snacks. Sticks that are made with katuk leaf flour added to them can be used as an alternative for postpartum mothers to increase their breast milk production. This community service activity is in the form of making innovative snacks/snacks made from katuk leaves, as an effort to increase mothers' breast milk production. This community service activity will be carried out at the Klempang Sari Village Office, Kuaro sub-district in December 2023 - January 2024 with participants namely midwives, Posyandu cadres, village officials, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and community representatives with a total of 27 participants. The program implemented is a combination of efforts to increase knowledge and skills as well as practice to increase breast milk production so as to increase maternal compliance with exclusive breastfeeding. And in the posyandu activities, education about the CEMAS SIDATUK program (Healthy snacks of katuk leaf sticks) was explained so that CEMAS SIDATUK could be implemented.
