Abstract

The problem of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia, especially during the first 1000 days of life (HPK), is a major concern because of its impact on health and quality of life. The prevalence of anemia among pregnant women in Indonesia is still high, reaching 40.5% to 42%. Iron deficiency is a common cause of anemia in pregnancy. Although government programs have been implemented, the incidence of anemia is still high, including in South Kalimantan Province. Community service activities were carried out in Cindai Alus Village, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, focusing on the role of cadres in preventing anemia in pregnant women. This activity aims to increase cadres' knowledge about anemia and provide education to pregnant women and families about anemia prevention. The methods used included counseling, discussion, and demonstration of filling out the monitoring sheet for taking blood supplement tablets. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in cadres' knowledge of anemia prevention, from fair to good. The cadres successfully provided counseling and education on anemia. Future activity plans include continued monitoring and evaluation of cadres and pregnant women, as well as the use of educational media such as booklets to increase program effectiveness. In conclusion, the cadre empowerment program successfully improved their knowledge and skills in anemia prevention among pregnant women. Continued support from health services and the community is needed to effectively tackle this anemia problems
