Abstract

One of the Strategic Priority Projects in the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) is the acceleration of reducing maternal mortality and stunting, with a target of reducing maternal mortality to 183 per 100,000 and stunting prevalence among children under five to 14%. The strategic focus of implementation is to improve the nutrition of adolescent girls and pregnant women, including the fulfillment of iron, iodine, vitamin A, and zinc supplementation, in accordance with Presidential Regulation No. 18 of 2020.The health of pregnant women and infants in the first 1000 days of life (Scaling Up Nutrition - SUN) requires special attention because it affects the quality of the human cycle. Factors such as inadequate nutrient consumption, certain diseases, and inadequate environment and health services, including anemia, contribute to chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women. This activity shows that pregnant women with SEZ and low Hb levels in the third trimester are at risk of giving birth to babies with below-normal body length, experiencing stunting. Malnutrition in the womb can disrupt fetal organ development, causing stunting which has a long-term impact on human growth. Data from Puskesmas Bati-bati showed that out of 36 pregnant women, 18 experienced SEZ and 8 of them experienced anemia. Counseling is needed to improve pregnant women's understanding of SEZ, anemia, and stunting. Counseling pregnant women about the importance of nutritional fulfillment during pregnancy can increase their knowledge and awareness to prevent SEZ, anemia, and stunting. Counseling media such as leaflets successfully provide relevant information and have a positive impact. Therefore, efforts to provide health education to pregnant women are an important step in overcoming nutrition and reproductive health problems.
