Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is still a serious health problem, especially in the Martapura 1 Puskesmas area. Although a free blood supplementation program has been implemented, its effectiveness is limited by the knowledge and compliance of pregnant women and the lack of support from husbands and families. Blood supplementation tablets have positive effects on mothers and babies during pregnancy, including increasing Hb levels and reducing the risk of infant disability. The purpose of this activity is to provide socialization and support to husbands and families to increase the compliance of pregnant women in taking blood supplement tablets, with the hope of preventing anemia in pregnant women. This activity was carried out through socialization and education using pamphlet media in Cindai Alus Village, involving village officials, husbands, families, and health workers. The approach used includes analyzing the condition of the area, identifying problems, planning interventions, and implementing education. Pre and post tests were used to assess husband and family knowledge before and after counseling. After counseling, there was a significant increase in husbands' and families' knowledge about anemia in pregnant women and the importance of their support in pregnant women's adherence to taking blood supplement tablets. Husband and family support was also seen in the completion of the monitoring sheet for taking blood supplement tablets in the MCH book.Through this activity, it was successful in increasing husband and family knowledge and providing support in preventing anemia in pregnant women. It is hoped that this effort can become a model for similar programs in the community to improve the health of pregnant women and babies and reduce maternal mortality. The next step is to maintain the continuity of this program by actively involving all relevant parties.
