Abstract

Higher education institutions have three primary functions: education and teaching, research for the advancement of knowledge, and community service. These three functions are collectively known as the Tridharma of Higher Education. Community service is the third dharma of higher education. Its existence is crucial, both for the institution itself and for its role within society. This particular community service initiative aims to "Enhance Community Knowledge on Complementary Feeding through Educational Classes at SAHlah Home Complementary Midwifery Practice (PMB) Delima Winda Maolinda in Banjarbaru, 2023." The target participants are posyandu cadres, pregnant women, and mothers with infants and toddlers in Banjarbaru, 2023. Infancy and early childhood are critical periods in human development. Growth and development during this time significantly influence future development. This period is often referred to as the "golden age" due to its rapid and irreversible nature. These educational classes provide a platform for posyandu cadres, pregnant women, and mothers with infants and toddlers to collectively receive information from facilitators, engage in discussions, and exchange experiences on maternal and child health services, nutrition, and stimulation of growth and development. Facilitators guide these sessions using Mother and Child Health (KIA) books and MPASI flip charts. Given the importance of early childhood development, it is essential to educate mothers on early childhood development screening through these educational classes. The classes are designed for posyandu cadres, pregnant women, and mothers with infants and toddlers. They involve group learning activities facilitated by one or more instructors using KIA books, flip charts, and PowerPoint presentations as teaching aids.
