Abstract

The health problem of pregnant women is a health problem that is a shared responsibility, because one indicator of a nation's health is the decline in the maternal mortality rate (MMR), where one of the most common maternal deaths is during pregnancy and childbirth. One of the causes of maternal death is due to high risk pregnant women. According to data from the Banjarmasin City Health Office, in 2018 there were 2,235 pregnant women or 77.1% of 2,898 pregnant women with obstetric complications. It is important for pregnant women to know the conditions of high-risk pregnancies because high-risk pregnancies have risks to the condition of the mother and also the fetus. Efforts are being made to do screening using KSPR (Poedji Rochjati Score Card), conduct counseling about high-risk pregnancies, collaborate with local health centers in finding cases of high-risk pregnancies. The output of the programme was that from 20 pregnant women, 50% of pregnant women experienced high-risk pregnancies, then they were given education through counseling and when an evaluation was carried out through post-test there was an increase in knowledge about high-risk pregnancies. The conclusion is that pregnant women know whether their pregnancy is at risk by routinely carrying out prenatal care so that midwives can provide assistance and handling cases of high-risk pregnancies.
