Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by hyperglycemia because the pancreas is unable to produce insulin. A temporary increase in blood sugar in type 2 DM patients occurs due to insulin resistance due to a poor lifestyle that lasts for a long time, causing the pancreas to experience decreased function. Bad lifestyle habits such as non-compliance with a DM diet, lack of physical activity, taking medication irregularly worsen the condition of insulin resistance, thereby reducing the number of insulin receptors in target cells, resulting in an increase in blood glucose levels. This Community Service activity uses a case study with a family nursing care approach. The target of this community service activity is the village community of Lok Baintan Dalam who suffers from diabetes mellitus, numbering 1 head of family. As a result of the activity, the combination of deep breathing relaxation therapy and Ar-Rahman murrotal given to patients 3 hours before taking blood sugar medication was able to reduce blood glucose levels in type 2 DM patients. It is hoped that nurses will be able to apply the combination of deep breathing relaxation therapy and Ar-Rahman murrotal Rahman to reduce GDS in type 2 DM patients apart from the pharmacological therapy that patients undergo for treatment
