Abstract

Background: Given the large negative impact and risk of iron deficiency anemia in women, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention and proper management. Iron deficiency anemia can be treated by providing iron (Fe) intake either in the form of iron tablets or from vegetables and fruits that contain high levels of iron (Fe). Most people are less aware of the nutritional content of dragon fruit that can be used to prevent anemia, because of the content of Fe, Vitamin C and vitamin B contained in dragon fruit. Based on these conditions, it is necessary to provide socialization to the community, especially teenage girls, pregnant women and the elderly, in order to increase their knowledge about food sources that are rich in iron (Fe).

Objective: Empowerment and utilization of processing materials around us that can be used as food to increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women.

Method: This community service activity is in the form of a program activity "Empowerment of Pregnant Women in Preventing Anemia Through PUBUGA (Dragon Fruit Pudding) Processing" by providing education to pregnant women to prevent anemia through PUBUGA (Dragon Fruit Pudding) processing.

Results: The delivery of educational materials in the form of using leaflet media was given during the educational meeting and continued with a discussion if there were pregnant women who asked. Pregnant women seemed enthusiastic in responding to each education given.

Conclusion: Based on the results of the implementation of the midwifery project activities that were carried out on February 8, 2025 in Masukau Village, it can be concluded that the event went according to plan and went smoothly.
