Pengembangan Budidaya Maggot Black Soldier Fly Untuk Peningkatan Produksi Ayam Petelur Di Desa Barombong
Maggot BSF (Black Soldier Fly) is a potential alternative feed for laying hens which can reduce the use of expensive commercial feeds. Cultivation of BSF Maggot has been widely developed but has not been widely applied in laying hens farms. Barombong Village is one of the potential areas for the development of BSF maggots. BSF maggot only requires organic waste to grow that is wasted around the village. Based on observations, Zaza's layer chicken farm have the potential to utilize organic waste for BSF maggot. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge to community related to BSF maggot cultivation. The method used is counseling about the potential of maggots BSF, cultivation and management in feeding BSF maggots to laying hens. The final result of shows an increase in the understanding and ability of partners in cultivating maggot. Laying hens fed with maggot showed positive response to chicken health, production and increased income.
